Actors Theatre, Equinox join forces on 'God of Carnage'
In a collaboration between Actors Theatre of Montana (“The Life and Times of Tulsa Lovechild” and “A Streetcar Named Desire”) and Equinox Theatre Company, Dee Dee Van Zyl directs four veteran actors in Yazmina Reza’s edgy comedy, “God of Carnage.”
Kent Davis, Will Dickerson, Erin Roberg and Cara Wilder expertly ravage the stage as two couples that meet to have a civil discussion about a playground fight between their sons. The conversation quickly degrades into a laugh-out-loud, train wreck of an afternoon among savages, where allegiances shift, realign and disintegrate.
It was called “ninety minutes of sustained mayhem” by the New Yorker. The New York Times hailed “God of Carnage” as a “four way prize fight” and the Chicago Tribune praised Reza’s play as a “savvy and deliciously caustic new comedy.”
“God of Carnage” plays at Equinox Theatre, Fridays and Saturdays from March 23 through April 7 with a special actors benefit on Thursday, April 5, all at 8 p.m.
